Fellowship Baptist Church Exists to

Worship Jesus...Together

Follow Jesus...Together

Share Jesus...Together

 as the Body of Christ.

Worshiping Jesus

Jesus says the greatest commandment is to "...love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind (Matthew 22:37)."  The one overarching purpose for why we exist as a people and as a church is to Worship Jesus and create worshippers of Jesus by modeling worship, providing opportunities to worship and teaching people how to worship.

Following Jesus

Next, we must become disciples of Jesus.  Following Jesus means being a disciple of Him.  As we follow Jesus, we begin to look like Him, live like Him, talk like Him and love like Him; this is discipleship.

Sharing Jesus

While Jesus said that the great commandment is to love God and worship Him, He also gave a great commission which says that we are to "Go into the world and make disciples of all the nations... (Matthew 28:19)."  Once we have come to worship Jesus and then begin to follow Him, the next step is to share Him with the world.  We share Jesus not only by proclaiming the gospel but also by living the gospel out in the world in loving others, serving others and reaching out to others.  We exist to share Christ with the community around us and then to the ends of the Earth.

Together

Each of these purposes is both an individual purpose in life, we are called individually to worship Jesus and then to follow Him and finally to share Him with the world.  As a church we are called to do these together.  Not simply gather for programs and services but in living life out day to day we are called to join with each other and worship Him as we follow Him and His commandments and share Him.
